Well done, Terry Stewart
To the editor:
Terry Stewart served the citizens of Cape Coral with class and dignity and established himself as being a capable administrator. Throughout his tenure as city manager he skillfully guided the city through both the boom and the bust times and deserves our appreciation for a job well done.
Unfortunately, the job of city manager is a position that requires constant controversial decision making and inevitably the disagreements serve to produce an acrimonious atmosphere that blurs bottom lime visions and ruins relationships. Working under the scrutiny of council members, who were politically motivated, and while being subjected to personal attacks from envious citizens. Mr. Stewart never wavered from his pledge to work towards making Cape Coral the best it could be, and he did this with grace, skill, dignity, and determination.
Mayor Sullivan, Mayor Burch, and every council member empowered during Terry Stewart’s leadership time would demonstrate a virtuous quality that would make us proud if they set aside their childish differences and give this man a proper send off.
