Welcome the new, thank the old

To the editor:

Having attended the coronation of our new Cape Coral City Council Members on Nov. 9, at city hall before a packed audience in a full house of the citizenry, I welcome in the new, and thank all the old, with a hearty tip of the hat and pat on the back for all who serve.

Thanks also to our resigning city manager Terry Stewart for his eight years of service. The best of luck to you Terry and may your future shine most brightly.

And you, John Sullivan, with that fighting Irish name, may you as our new mayor, lead us into a most glorious future with your new city council of McClain, McGrail, Leetz, Deile, Brandt, Grill and Donnell, pulling that wagon along with yourself.

God bless you all and may the wind be at your back as you proceed down that road to success and glory in all your future endeavors. Good luck.
