Thanks — and no thanks

To the editor:

Thank you to Gov. Crist for his email showing support for our veterans. The outpouring of gratitude from individuals and businesses alike is greatly appreciated.

I have been very supportive of you as the Governor of our great state. Unfortunately, when you thought you would be put on the ticket to run with John McCain for President, you changed your opinion from being opposed to offshore drilling to, “Well, I think we should give it serious consideration.”

That, in itself showed me that you put your political decisions “above” your decisions regarding what is good for this state. This is the problem we have with our congress people today.

Now you are asking for our support in your efforts to become our Senator. How can we support you, when you have shown us that the political position is more important than the State of Florida that you hope to represent?
