Regarding the comments of Captain John Bunch, USMC:
I realize how in the passion of the moment we all have to point fingers at people and the possible reasons they have for committing such heinous crimes. If Doctor Hasan was anything but a Muslim you and others would be hard pressed to point fingers at an otherwise peaceful and patriotic group of people.
It is reasonable for our prejudices to rise to the surface when we feel we are in danger and a person from an outside group “proves” to us their complicity. While you are raging about Muslim terrorists do not forget how we treated Japanese-Americans during WWII, before that Italians, Irish – and for 200 years the African-American – and other groups of immigrants fleeing untold depravity in their homelands, coming to America only to fall victim to homegrown bigotry.
You fought for your nation so that all people could enjoy the entitlement of being innocent until proven guilty. This is not Iraq, Iran, North Korea or any of those other countries that fault minority groups for their problems. If Doctor Hasan is guilty, then until proven otherwise, he is guilty of being a deranged individual who fell through the cracks.
