Thank you to the citizens of Cape Coral

To the editor:

On Nov. 3, 2009, I was blessed with the most humbling experience of my life. As a candidate to represent District 4 for the City Council of Cape Coral, I was well aware of the difficulty I would face against a respected and experienced incumbent opponent. The experience of the campaign and personal contact of meeting so many caring and involved people have been gifts which I can never fully explain in words. To culminate the evening Nov. 3 by receiving the majority vote to work as your City Councilman is, most assuredly, the greatest honor I could ever have imagined.

If I have not been able to contact you personally the past several days, I would like to say publicly, “Thank You.” Your endorsement, through your vote is, respectfully, accepted and will be treated with the honor and regard as the principles which I promised in my campaign.

On Monday evening, when I take the oath of office as your councilman, I will be sworn in and witnessed by two individuals who have the respect of our city and county and, assuredly, me. In advance, I thank you for accepting my request to participate in the ceremony.

To those many individuals whose support I still must earn, I will work diligently to do so. I would advocate that we communicate and work together to achieve the best results for all of our citizens and residents that make up our city.

Respectfully,

Chris Chulakes-Leetz

Councilman-Elect

District 4
