Your vote is your voice
To the editor:
The stakes could not be higher this election season, as we face the most challenging economic recession of our time. Cape Coral is truly at a crossroads and you, the voter, will determine the leadership that will shape the future of our city – our home.
Four independent “grass roots” candidates with a wealth of varied backgrounds have stepped up with a game-changing pledge called the Contract With Cape Coral. Each candidate has promised toreform the city administration, reduce spending to 2005 levels, restore public trust, make Cape Coral truly commercial development friendly, develop a comprehensive plan for Cape Coral and complete the UEP/FEP forensic audit. Those candidates are: John Sullivan (retired Chicago Board of Trade floor manager with accountability for $100 million in daily order flow and a veteran IT consultant), Jim Martin (retired aerospace executive with $2.7 billion oversight for the B-1 bomber and space shuttle projects, along with advanced degrees and a rocket design patent), John Cataldi (retired Commanding Officer of Detectives, National Guard officer and long-time public servant) and Chris Chulakes-Leetz (a career EMT and U.S. Air Force veteran with a BA degree). You could not ask for a more diverse set of complementary skills, knowledge and accomplishments that will be the key to building our future. You can check them out at www.grassroots09.com.
So, will you choose for our city to remain on its present course or will you choose a fresh direction that is embodied in the core values of the pledge that each of these candidates has made to us, the people. Ask yourself Who is committed to your best interests? Who has offered a specific action-plan for positive change? Who has signed that symbolic contract to be held accountable to you? It is your money, your city and your future. Your vote is your voice and it is time to speak for yourself.
