Vote Martin
To the editor:
This letter is in support of Jim Martin. I’ve not known Jim long but everything I know I like. I attended a meet-and-greet at his house because I’ve known his wife, Patti, for such a long time. What a great family!
Of course family is important, but not a criteria for serving on Council. When I read his resume, I was blown away. He has a tremendous background and would be a real asset to the decision-making process that our city council must make on some very important issues. Jim’s leadership abilities and common sense are rare commodities in most candidates. And, even more important is his integrity. He is without doubt a man of enormous talent and his honesty is unquestioned.
When I do talk with someone about Jim, sometimes I hear the comment about his signing the Contract With Cape Coral. I thought about this for a long time, even read the contract several times. There is nothing bad in what has been written; in fact, it’s good. Then I thought about the fact that I signed a Loyalty Oath to our Republican party for 16 years and although I never publicly supported a Dem, I did sometimes vote for the Democrat because that person was the better candidate. I believe Jim will follow what makes sense because he is so bright, he cares, and he has great understanding of our city.
Everyone has heard, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out the right answer. Jim “was” a rocket scientist in his former life. I’m voting for Jim and hope you will join me.
