Consolidate departments, save money

Good Day Cape Coral, I have suggested for years to administration consolidate departments: Public Works / Community Development / Economic Development. Clerk’s Office / Human Resources/ Information Technology City Manager / Financial Services / Parks & Recreation

Reference: Phoenix, Arizona Most major cities through America with prudent leadership would take on this challenge in reduction of bureaucracy. This has the unfriendly side of this administrator, fostering loyalty by keeping the same system in place. My only conclusion was that Mr. Stewart has stationed himself into comfort; this is understandable since he has grown from within the government system. “If Stewart, and his directors wanted to foster and not Compound they could save the city Millions of dollars”.

(The City of Cape Coral was awarded the Strategic Leadership Award by the International City/County Management Association for the Lean Government System). It’s not because of training, we have surely invested well in them; it’s a matter of will within the administration’s strategic plans, the council will support this if they deliver the goods.
