Trolleys were a waste of money

To the editor:

Whose brilliant idea was the “trolleys/buses” in downtown Cape Coral? Was it only the CRA executive director, John Jacobsen? Did he have help and approval from the city manager, Mayor Burch, and city council? A pilot program? For five months? At a cost of (roughly) $123,000. At a time when many of us are barely making it? What’s wrong with you people? Perhaps the pilot from the “pilot program”should be fired. Spending about $6,000 per week for “this bus” to run Fridays and Saturdays is absolutely ridiculous and a waste of taxpayers money.

I’m actually appalled that someone gets paid for coming up with these ludicrous ideas. Thanks for wasting our money for a city that really has no downtown.
