Thank you, voters
To the editor:
Thank you to the Daily Breeze for your endorsement of my candidacy for Cape Coral City Council District 6. I was very pleased to see your editorial board recognize my efforts to familiarize myself with the myriad of issues facing Cape Coral this election year. I have met with seven department directors and have literally covered miles of Cape Coral neighborhoods on foot, meeting hundreds of people, to get a better understanding of what our citizens and City staff need Council to do to keep our city on the right track. Despite our current “tough times” I truly believe Cape Coral’s best days are still ahead of us.
I would like to thank all the voters who came out this primary election. While we as candidates were disheartened to see such a low turnout, the 9 percent of you who did vote set the slate for the Nov. 3 election for the other 91 percent of Cape Coral residents. I am very grateful to the 3,573 people who voted for me and understand my campaign to keep Cape Coral our “Paradise.” I would hope many more voters will respond on Nov. 3 when the District 6 and three other council seats, including the mayors, are being decided.
I have told my supporters that this is like leading at half time of a football game, a nice position to be in, but I know I haven’t “won” anything yet.
