Stop the spending

To the editor:

The city of Cape Coral is still spending money. Is this really necessary in these times?

The city mayor and Council of Cape Coral have to learn how to handle money. If this was their home project and didn’t have the money would they spend the money? I think not. Do we really need to build this building now or can it wait another year or two? Of course it can.

The Signage/Striping Building is in the FY 2010 budget for Public Works Department. The estimated cost is $259,760, and it is located at the city compound on Everest Parkway. After the FY 2010 budget is approved, the Public Works department will go out for bid for a contractor.
