Storm clouds over Cape Coral

To the editor:

Predicting election results is like predicting where lighting will strike. Forecasting a storm has a sense of accuracy and the science applies well to candidates running for office. On one hand, a group calling themselves the Minute Men have decided to take the city by storm; they are attempting to stack the deck in our city council. They already have two members with Brandt and Deile and looking to add three more with Sullivan, Cataldi and Martin. Who are these people and their followers? They are the malcontents, the chronic complainers, the ones who have a personal ax to grind, the ones who see a conspiracy at every turn. They find fault with everything and everyone, but fail to bring in new ideas to benefit the majority. Their platform is simple – fire the city manager, stop the UEP project, get rid of MWH and run Cape Coral like a McDonalds. Yep, that is what Sullivan, the Minute Men leader, has said. Beyond these points they offer nothing to better the situation other than saying “No Not Now.” I am not a weather forecaster, but I can assure you if any more Minute Men are elected to council, lightning will strike Cape Coral every day for the next four years. So when I see a Minute Men candidate on the ballot like Sullivan, Cataldi and Martin, I will say no, not now and make another choice.
