Quality or quantity?
To the editor:
Enough of this willy-nilly expansions. Go for it. After all who can stand in the way of developmental progress? Quality, indeed. Quantity for profit can serve as our hue and cry for this city.
We could have a developers jamboree. Government officials could then rub elbows with the large developers, as they are sure to come. Betwixt the two of them they could come to terms rather quickly. Convenience stores aplenty, strip malls on every major artery. High rises along the coast and here and there as the opportunities arise.
In a span of five to 10 years we could raise our population to half a million or more. Imagine the revenue. As for quality, safe havens could be developed, with walls and fences with a mercenary police force, (security guards), to ensure the quality, for those that can afford it. I have a dream of wealth growing to bountiful amounts for most of us. The rest, alas.
Now to show the developers we mean business, we, without further ado, proceed with the UEP. This will help to suppress valuation, to wit, a developer’s acquisition delight. Not to mention reducing opposition to expansion. Raise service charges and taxes to help in combing out of those that would dare to confront progress of our city. With the approval of government officials, developers could be free to roam.
Voters take heed; election time approaches. You can vote your selves into whichever expansion you choose. Vote yourselves in or out it’s up to you. Best of luck to you all.
