Proper use of police take-home car?
To the editor:
I was at Publix on Kismet and Del Prado this week at around 7:30 p.m. one night this week. As we were leaving the store, a Cape Coral police car pulled into a parking spot.
The officer got out wearing gym clothes, locked the cruiser, and walked into the liquor store. I mean if the economy is so bad and there is a budget problem why should the officers be allowed to do this? I mean my 5-year- old watch the officer get out of his car and go into the liquor store in civilian clothes.
I got his car number and call the non- emergency Police Department number and they gave me a number that just kept ringing. My question is who supervises the officers and how they use their cars, gas, and the use taxpayer money?
