Six seconds to truth

To the editor:

There’s nothing like splashing a little water in your face to open up your eyes.

Friday, May 22, was D-Day (Definition Day) for Chicago WLS radio host Eric “Mancow” Muller who set the bully coward, Sean Hannity’s, reneged pledge to be water boarded for charity on its ears.

The alleged right wing shock-jock radio host tackled the controversial subject of waterboarding live on his radio show. His idea was that waterboarding must be like extreme sports and his on air test would help prove waterboarding did not in fact constitute torture.

Now here is where the six seconds of truth comes in! That’s exactly how long Mr. Eric “Mancow” Muller lasted in this controlled water boarding experiment.

It is way worse than I thought it would be and that’s no joke… absolutely torture,” Muller stated, likening it to a time when he nearly drowned as a child. To see the video, Google search “Mancow waterboarding torture.”

Last year Vanity Fair writer Christopher Hitchens endured the same experiment and came to a similar conclusion. The conservative writer said he found the treatment terrifying and was haunted by it for months afterward. “Well, then, if waterboarding does not constitute torture, then there is no such thing as torture,” Hitchens concluded in the article.

As a veteran I am pleased that President Ronald Reagan signed into U.S. law the U.N. Convention against torture.

As a Republican I am truly mortified that our once great moral and Godly party of core values (that we wore on our sleeves) has been hijacked by the warmongering, neocon Zionist, corporate Fascist self-serving Trotskyite wing of the Republican Party.

In my opinion, the hierarchy of the Democrat Party is made up of fakes, frauds, freaks and phonies while the so- called leaders of the Republican Party are motivated by only two things; their own greed and their own stupidity. The great American middle class is being defrocked by the elitists on one side and the loafers on the other side.

Is it time for a strong third party that would truly stand up for America?
