Kids won’t be the ones to benefit from tax increase
To the editor:
The effort of many who supported Tea Parties was to stop higher taxes in government. Certainly, here in Lee County the Tea Party never impressed those on the Lee School Board with the exception of Bob Chilmonik, our own Paul Revere. The cry is to raise property taxes and sales tax, all supposed to help children. All of this led by Superintendent Browder who one could compare to King George VI of England. He speaks of children and than looks to his own benefits.
He earns a handsome six-figure salary per year. Not enough? He gets $900 a month car allowance! Not enough, he gets a great deal of money by the famous double dip. Not enough? He will now get a $342,000 golden parachute when he leaves for any reason, including cause! He laughs all the way to bank.
It doesn’t stop there. He has his people laughing with him. A public relations director at $100,000 per year to tell the poor citizens why all of this is justified. And then he pays the most expensive secretary in the county $86,000 per year. Does Browder lose any sleep? Not at all, ethics and morals don’t count. He even has deleted an ethics clause from his contract.
It is clear that any more taxes to this group will never benefit the children even though they are being held up as the beneficiaries of this largess! How much tea must flow before the taxpayer says “enough is enough!”?
