Dr. Phil vs Nadia

3 min read

To the editor:

Never in the life of the ubiquitous television Law and Order episode, have I seen the spectacle of a prosecutor-father figure, challenge the innocence and humility of a young woman, who, according to popular psychologist, Dr. Phil, a creation of the opulent Oprah, empressario at optimum of the versatile media. He presented to the judgment of his vociferous audience, the accused Nadia who dared to breach tradition with the multiple birth of her eight babies, all conceived and delivered by numerous prominent surgeons and pediatricians at tremendous expense of the public treasury.

This leaves no other recourse than the removal of the tiny babies to be cared by the state or other adoption agency away from the defenseless Nadia and her supportive mother who, when addressed about these peccadilloes, appears to admit her reckless decision and apologizes to the entire community and, instead of asking for the good will and the benevolence of the irate audience, adds contritely and apologetically that she will find a way to perform her responsibilities. Her fate will be to take care of her 14 children with the help of her kind mother. At least they will not suffer from the absence of love.

Reflecting on the audience attitude, the new generations of today ignore the fact that merely 50 years ago and beyond, this decision was unsuitable to the precepts of the Sacred Bible under which they lived. Abortion was legally reprehensible as an unforgivable sin and punishable in the eyes of the law. The larger the number of children, especially males, added to the economic value of their clans. God had a special place for women and that is her entire organism, her total being is dedicated to the conception and support to the heirs of humanity. Men could not supplant their divine mission the uninterrupted succession of life.

Nadia is the personification of God’s design to the succession of life and whether the number of children is too many or too few only a celestial entity could guess whether the eight children were born to prove Nadia’s human limits.

During the long interview I observed Nadia’s facial gestures, happy smile and the inscrutable peace of her eyes and, in spite of the severe and sometimes unforgiving eyes, she repeats, I am happy for the birth of all my children and I truly believe that this event is a gift of God. God has created the epiphany of my children and I have faith that thanks to his omnipotent powers, every morning and every evening the chores will be finished, the meals served and all the children will reflect the satisfaction of the promised paradise.

Nadia has more courage than Joan of Arc, and more feminine beauty than a Picasso smile, and no one, not Dr. Phil or another man, will make her unhappy about the sublimity of her eight God-given children. Nadia, America loves you and all your children and salutes you with open arms and happy hearts.
