It’s time to pray
To the Editor
Let’s hope that the recent events relating to the Obama administration are not indicative of what to expect for the next four years. To place Tim Geitner and Tom Daschile in powerful cabinet posts reflects incredibly poor judgment by President Obama. Both men are admitted tax evaders and neither has the right to enjoy the benefits of high ranking government jobs. It’s one thing to give them a pass, and not insist on prosecution, but to act as if what they did is not serious enough to cost them the jobs is to disrespect the offices they will occupy and surely disrespect the voters that elected this president. If it’s a matter of giving two unemployed men jobs, we’re additionally concerned since, Blagejevich and Maddoff are both searching for gainful employment. It’s important for President Obama to step back, take a deep breath, and understand that this is a huge responsibility that can never be serviced by employing slippery characters that have demonstrated contempt for our system. Fairness, at this point, calls for the release from prison of all tax evaders … they’re all willing to apologize, and they deserve the Daschle-Geitner justice. It’s only fair.
