The public is part of the public meeting process
To the editor:
As an ardent TV watcher of Cape Coral’s Government Channel 98, I must voice my objection to the change which I saw take place in the presentation of the weekly Cape council meetings these past two weeks, Feb. 2, and Feb. 10, respectively.
For the first time, as I could see, a picture of the entire audience was completely ignored – along with city staff – when various issues to council were being presented. Only the council members, the city manager and city attorney were given any pictured prominence. None of the future stars of city government such as Lynn Rosko, John Sullivan, Erick Kuehn and others were given their usual weekly exposure.
Who in government was responsible, if any, for this happening?
I remember, before their advent to power I could always take in a weekly view of Alex LePera, Dolores Bertolini, Pete Brandt, Erick Feichthaler, Arnold Kempe, Mr. Deile, and others in the audience for my perusal, to see the future players so to speak, without a score card. I missed that the past two weeks and would like to see it restored to the program’s format.
Hopefully, this has simply been an oversight in the programming, and not some sort of a deliberate political gesture. We’ll see.
