Don’t re-hire DROP ‘retirees’
To the editor:
Stop the people who are hiring the seniors from DROP.
The DROP program is not to blame for the double-dipping; it is the people who are hiring these senior employees after they have retired. I think it is time to get rid of the DROP (Deferred Retirement Option Program) and get rid of the people who are hiring them back after they have retired, give the jobs to the people who need the jobs instead of creating this problem of double-dipping.
If it weren’t for the people who are hiring these senior retirees, we wouldn’t have a problem with double-dipping now would we?
