Mayor and council shameful

2 min read

To the editor:

It’s time for the mayor, the council members, and the city manager to stop whining and start doing their jobs. Instead of listening to the taxpayers, and responding to the concerns and suggestions, the elected officials assume a disinterested posture, pout when they’re criticized, and act as if they’ve been hired to pontificate in areas they know nothing about.

Someone needs to explain to this group that babbling is not what the job is all about, it’s unprofessional and serves no constructive purpose.

A number of weeks ago, I wrote to the elected officials and the city manager and then I called Councilman Grill. All the council people refused to respond, Councilman Grill ignored my letter and did not return my phone call. Mayor Burch who talks about professionalism and the need to serve the taxpayers and reduce the level of disrespect for the officials called me in the middle of November and promised to get back to me before the end of the month with answers. The mayor conveniently forgot about his promise and never called again. This kind of rudeness indicated the kind of care-less attitude that reeks with immaturity and unprofessionalism.

The actions continued of this group will never result in serving the city productively. I’ve offered to meet with Mayor Burch, suggestion ignored, no response just ignored. Yes, mayor, it’s past the time when everyone in that elevated position needs to stop whining, replace the pomposity with professionalism, and grow up. I’m still waiting to hear from each council member, the city manager, and you, Mayor Burch.
