Lack of progress on UEP causing environmental harm
To the editor:
As a resident of the city of Cape Coral for 24 years I find it rather perplexing that decisions by city leaders often blow around like the wind. Decisions were made long ago to upgrade our community, decisions that had to be made, like updating our infrastructure for a cleaner, healthier community (as prompted by D.E.P.)
With 6/7 put on hold, septic tanks continue to seep into our waterways and wells continue to go dry due to our overused aquifer. This set back is non -beneficial to our city, which causes a domino effect for the remaining areas in need of these upgrades.
By not going forward we are forfeiting our quality of life, depleting our natural resources and prolonging our compromised waterways.
