You’re in school to learn
To the editor:
To suggest that there is nothing wrong with the idea of students wearing their oversized jeans below their underwear, exposing part of their buttocks, is totally insane, when applied to the educational process concerning our young. It is most certainly distractive and has no place in a system that is supposedly designed for education.
When Gov. Crist, who is simply giving in to the pressures put on him by the minorities communities states, “what’s important is what you learn, not what you wear,” might I suggest to the governor that our Florida education system isn’t all that much of a font of learning that any attempt at improving a situation, by whatever means, cannot and should not be denied.
And particularly by a governor.
“Pull them pants up and keep covered your damned underwear.” That’s one message that must be sent to all students regardless of their race, color or national origin. You’re in school to learn, not fool around with your drawers.
