Lots of information shared at Civic meeting
To the editor:
Cape Coral Civic Association’s meeting on Tuesday night was a must-attend meeting. Charlie Green, the County Court clerk gave a wealth of information on the operation of the County Clerk’s office and how he has implemented many cost saving methods. Mr. Green took many questions from those in attendance and was a delight to listen to.
Dolores Bertolini, councilwoman from District 4, gave a cursory overview of what it means to be a councilwoman and the hours of work that it entails. Mrs. Bertolini fielded many questions from those in attendance on the bidding process relative to the PSB. The Select Advisory Committee process was also questioned with the need to involve more contractors/workers from Cape Coral to keep Cape Coral money in Cape Coral in order to help our own economy.
County Commissioner Ray Judah was a surprise visitor. Commissioner Judah was invited to comment on the county commission decision earlier in the day on the Ceitus boat lift.
Commissioner Judah gave a brief overview of the commission rationale and fielded questions from the audience with reference to the vote. He intends to speak to the city council at Monday’s meeting.
This meeting was an exceptional one for the people in attendance with the broad range of topics that were covered by the guest speakers and citizens’ questions. It was by far one of the best informational meetings held by Civic.
Next month’s meeting promises even more with a majority of the neighborhood associations getting together in one room to discuss the issues of Cape Coral that affect each of their areas and the city as a whole.
