Philip Peter Hopko

Cape Coral – Philip Peter Hopko passed on March 19, 2023, with his family at his side, in Cape Coral, Florida at age 81. Philip was born on November 15, 1941, to Elizabeth Graham Bell Hopko and Philip Peter Hopko Sr. He grew up in Teaneck, NJ and was a graduate of Teaneck High School and the State University of New York at Delhi with a technical degree in Science and Engineering with honors. He served with the United States Army for six years. Philip worked in the construction and glass manufacturing industries and retired in 2003 from Saint-Gobain Glass, Muncie, Indiana, as Director of Engineering. He loved boating at the Jersey shore, at Keuka Lake and on the canals and the Gulf in Cape Coral, Florida.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Dorothy (Darcy) Hopko, and by his two children, Jonathan Philip Hopko (Amanda), and Deborah Leigh Hopko Zwanka. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Michael, Sarah and Ryan Hopko and Tucker (Peyton), Cooper and Lily Zwanka. His surviving relatives include his sister, Phyllis Hoag (David), nieces, Elizabeth Hoag, Jennifer Gonzales (Ray), Joanne Hardy and Janet Miller (Richard), Amy Linardic (Kevin), Lauren Radick, and nephew, Randall Cullen.

Memorial services will be held at Faith Presbyterian Church, 4544 Coronado Parkway, Cape Coral, FL 33904 on April 15th at 11 AM. Reception to follow.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice, Faith Church, or the charity of your choice in memory of Phil.
