Kathy Dianne Skarbowski

Kathy Dianne Skarbowski, 68, of East Palatka passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Putnam Community Medical Center in Palatka following a brief illness.

Kathy was born in Toledo, Ohio and had lived in East Palatka six years, coming from Cape Coral where she had previously lived for 24 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Palatka and enjoyed hosting and hospitality. She was a gifted artist and loved painting and crafts. Some of her work had been displayed at Salt The Earth Creations on St. Johns Ave. in Palatka.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles LaFountaine; her stepmother, Goldie LaFountaine; a brother, Mike Rosinski; and a step-brother, Harold “Butch” LaFountaine.

Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Ray Skarbowski of East Palatka; two daughters, Sandra Michelle Goncalves (Eduardo) of Cape Coral, and Kristen Michelle Rice of Palatka; her mother, Rose Marie Rosinski of AZ; her twin brother, Keith D. LaFountaine of East Palatka; three sisters, Sandra Ramm of AZ, Patricia Nellis (David) of CA, and Pamela Bauman of AZ; a step-sister, Carol Peterson (Pete) of Ohio; four grandchildren, Jarren Simmons, Uriah Rice, Killian Rice, and Asher Goncalves; an “adopted grandson in Jesus,” Brandon Shiles; a niece and nephew, Scott and Heather Ramm; and all of her beloved nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Palatka.
