Anna M. Barth
Anna M. Barth was born in Milwaukee, Wis., July 5, 1926, to Mathias and Anna (Horvath) Lempel. She passed away Monday, Sept. 29, 2014.
She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Elizabeth Wroblew-ski Leslie.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, John Wells Barth of Cape Coral; daughters, Deborah Hoofer of Naples, Fla., and Nancy (Michael) Basinsky of Cleveland, Tenn.; and granddaughters, Kathryn Basinsky of Washington, D.C., and Jacky (Joseph) Justice of Atlanta.
After being recruited from high school by the FBI, Mrs. Barth served her country during World War II while living in Washington, D.C., for 2 years. Following that service, she attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis.
She was business oriented and worked first at a local bank followed by managing a small hospital before giving birth to her daughters. From that point on she devoted her time to raising a family. During her stay at home years, she had a strong calling for civic service serving on local PTAs, school boards, library boards, Texas Republican Women’s Club and was a member of the Finance Committee for the city of Cape Coral.
She was an avid bridge player, achieving Gold World Master point status in duplicate bridge.
She has been lovingly cared for the last 3 years by the Windsor of Cape Coral and in her last days by Hope Hospice.
Memori-als can be sent in her name to Hope (Hospice) Health Care Services of Fort Myers or Parkinson’s Foundation.
