Donald Taylor Ness
Donald Taylor Ness, 61, of Cape Coral died Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Hope Hospice.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Maria; two sons, Michael (Heather) Ness of Vienna, Va., and Alan (Carolyn) Ness of Cumming, Ga.; three grandchildren, Lucas, Anabel and Elijah; and sister, Ethel (and Donald) Menke of Cape Coral.
He was born in Kearny, N.J., in 1949. He married Maria in 1972, after which they lived in Parsippany, N.J., before retiring to Cape Coral in 2002. He worked for Verizon Communications for over 33 years. He will be remembered as a “Jack of All Trades,” who enjoyed the beach, biking, kyaking and sports. He was a member of Cape Coral First United Methodist Church. He served his country honorably with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
A memorial service will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 30, at Fuller Metz Funeral Home, 3740 Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral.
