Margaret Ann “Peggy” Bartos
Margaret Ann “Peggy” Bartos, 92, of Cape Coral passed away peacefully Sunday April 10, 2011 at Hope Hospice surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Liverpool England on June 17, 1918 to Michael F. and Ann I. McGreevy. Her family moved to Chicago in 1920. She married Frank J. Bartos in 1952 in Chicago.
She moved to Cape Coral with her three children and parents in 1960. As an early pioneer she became the first News Press carrier in Cape Coral and delivered papers for more than 20 years. She retired at the age of 80 from the News Press in 1999.
She is survived by her three children; Michael (Becky) Bartos and their children Michael and Kristen of Fort Myers, Nora A. Mohr and her children; Brent, Jana, and Connor of Fort Myers and Brian (Janet) Bartos and their children; Ashley, Lindsay, Jonathan, and Christopher of Cape Coral. She also is survived by her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank and her brother Maurice.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, April 14, at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends for viewing Wednesday, April 13, at the Fuller Metz Funeral Home, 3740 Del Prado Blvd. Cape Coral from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice 9470 Health Park Circle, Ft.
