Anne Jane Frundt
Anne Jane Frundt, 93, of Cape Coral, died March 19, 2011, at Shady Grove Healthcare Center in Rockville, Md. She was born Nov. 20, 1917, in Harvard, Ill., the daughter of Dennis O’Connor and Bridgit Taylor O’Connor. She worked as a proofreader in Chicago until her marriage to Thomas E. Frundt in 1937. After World War II, Tom and Anne moved to Oxford, Ohio, and purchased an ice cream parlor known as Frundt’s Blue Ribbon Ice Cream Co.
She was very active as a volunteer in Oxford and was named “Citizen of the Year” in 1966. She served on several parent-teacher organizations and was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, Women’s Club and Music Club. In the 1980s the Frundts began spending the winter months in Cape Coral, where they owned a commercial property that is now operated as a Perkins Restaurant.
Thomas passed away in 1995. A son, Richard Frundt of Seattle, Wash., pre-deceased her in 2001.
Mrs. Frundt is survived by her three daughters, Patricia Edmister of Gaithersburg, Md., Mary Cornell, of Mahopac, N.Y., and Ginny Chichester of Covelo, Calif. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral and internment were in Oxford, Ohio.
