Barbara A. (Doss) Light
Barbara A. (Doss) Light, 67, of Cape Coral passed away, Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at Cape Coral Hospital.
She was born in Kingsport, Tenn., on May 22, 1943, to Walter Ray and Fannie Irene (Davis) Pratt. She was a graduate of Athens State College where she earned a bachelors in elementary education and also held a masters in library science from Alabama A&M.
She was dedicated to children and education and retired from the Lee County School District where she worked as a teacher and a librarian. She also worked at Edison State College as a reference librarian. She was a member of First Christian Church of Cape Coral where she was an active volunteer.
Surviving are her husband, Charles “Chuck” E. Light; a daughter, Carmen M. (Doss) Amburgey; five grandchildren, Samantha and Haley Amburgey and Justin, Nicholas and Mackenzie Light; and a brother, David Pratt.
A memorial service will be held Monday, March 21, at 11 a.m., at First Christian Church of Cape Coral, 2620 Country Club Blvd., Cape Coral.
