Mary Lucille Corey
Mary Lucille Corey, 88 of Cape Coral, died Monday, March 7, 2011.
She was born Jan. 31, 1923, in Kalamazoo, Mich., to Leon and Lucille Saddler. Mrs. Corey has lived here since 1978.
She was a member of Grace Church. She was a bookkeeper for the Woolworth Corporation. She taught Release Time Bible Study for inner city school children, was a host for New Hope Organization and housing unwed mothers. She was involved with Girl Scouts, Vacation Bible School and assisted in the church nursery.
She enjoyed gardening, reading and sewing.
She is survived by her loving family, including her children, Elaine (John) Montague, Vincent Corey Jr., James Corey, Sharon Corey and Jeanne (Martin) Schaefer; grandchildren, Autumn Harrington, Allison Schaefer, Kendall Schaefer, Joshua Montague, Meagan Montague, Traci Egging, Jody Crouse, Elisha Hartranft and Derrick Backus; great-grandchildren, Michael Kinney, Brittni Crouse, Brooke Egging, Luke Egging and Taylor Backus; sister, Agnes Carson; sisters-in-law, Laura Saddler and Amelia March; and brother-in-law, Leslie (Ruth) Corey.
She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent, in 1996.
Visitation will be from noon until the funeral at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 S.W. Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral, with burial to follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery.
