Edward F. Wehausen

Edward F. Wehausen, 93, of Cape Coral passed away Saturday, March 5, 2011, at the Hope Hospice House in Cape Coral. He was born Oct. 15, 1917, in Manitowoc, Wis., to Emil and Marie Wehausen. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. In May 1946, he married Lois Jeanne Brewer in Salt Lake City, Utah, and cultivated his life as a dairy farmer in Manitowoc County, Wis. The couple raised 10 children before residing 38 years in Cape Coral, using his talents as a landscaper, city lot mower,and founding member of Abiding Love Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Lois Jeanne Brewer, and son, Steven E. Wehausen.

He is survived by sisters, Sylvia Kasten of Manitowoc, Wis., and Delores Wryer of Houston, Texas; children, Wayne (Faith) Wehausen of Lehigh Acres, Kent (Carol) Wehausen of Crossville, Tenn., Glenn Wehausen of Brookville, Fla., Kerry Hatton of Tucson, Ariz., Stanley (Susan) of Reedsville, Wis., Wesley (Lorraine) Wehausen of Cato, Wis., Bonnie Wehausen (Gerald Derworth) of Lehigh Acres and Terry Wehausen of Cape Coral; grandchildren, Shayne Wehausen , Denise Wehausen (Niklas Gyllo), Jason (Staci) Wehausen, Kevin (Lisa) Wehausen, Sheila ( Forrest) Harris, Russell (Shannon) Wehausen, Jessica and Justin Hatton; and nine great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Edward’s life will take place at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 S.W. Pine Island Road, Cape Coral, Wednesday March 9, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Interment will be in Coral Ridge Cemetery.
