Robert Michael Tobin
Robert Michael Tobin, 73, of Bokeelia passed away Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011. He was born on Jan. 7, 1938, in Brooklyn, N.Y. He moved here from Reno, Nev., six years ago to pursue his love of fishing. He was a member of the Pipefitters Union in New York, California and Nevada. He attended Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church. He was very active in A.A. for over 29 years where he was a leader and sponsor to many people.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Joan Carole Tobin; children, Robert Tobin, Alicia Tobin, Elizabeth Aurora, all of New York, and Allen (Ida) Bennett of New Jersey.
He was predeceased by his son, John Tobin, and step-son, David Mandelbaum.
Memorial visitation will be from 11 a.m. until his Celebration of Life Service at noon Saturday, Feb. 19, at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 S.W. Pine Island Road, Cape Coral.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Cape Coral Hospital for their compassionate care. His wife, Joan, a crossing guard at P.I.E., would like to thank everyone on the island for their thoughts and concerns during this difficult time.
