Alvin R. Boye

Alvin R. Boye, 75, of Cape Coral passed away Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, after a courageous battle with COPD and cancer.

He was born Jan. 9, 1936, in Bronx, N.Y. He and his wife Eleanore moved to Hopewell Jct., N.Y., in 1957. He was employed by IBM for 30 years, serving in various management positions.

While in New York he was a very active member in the Free and Accepted Masons. He served as the Worshipful Master of Beacon Lodge # 283, in 1971 and 1973. He also served as the Lodge Secretary from 1974-1988. In 1975 he was selected by the New York Grand Lodge to serve as District Deputy Grand Master of the Dutchess District. He will be having a Masonic service at Fuller Metz Cremation and Funeral Services, 3740 Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral, beginning at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 16.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Eleanor; their five children and their families: Eleanore (Jim) Slajchert, Barbara (Glenn) Neumann, Alvin Boye, Elizabeth (William) Schulman and John (Jenn) Boye. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He is loved and will be deeply missed.
