Benedetto William Daidone
Benedetto William Daidone, 75, entered into eternal life Jan. 29, 2011. He was born Aug. 20, 1935, in Queens, N.Y., to Paul and Maria (Amico) Daidone, now deceased.
He leaves four children, Benedict, Paul, Christina Egan and Donna Gaynor; and grandchildren, Jesse, Christopher, Sammi, Gary, Nicholas Cooper, Carolyn Cooper-Knobbs, Jerry and Lara Quesada. He is also survived by his former wife, Carol Hering, of Cape Coral and her two sons, Kenneth of Fort Myers and Glen of Massachusetts.
He also has an adopted family in West Hartford, Conn, Linda Reilly-Blue and her husband, Bruce, and their family of six boys, KJ, Daquan, Jeremy, Nicholas, JayJay and Carlos.
He was preceded in death by his former wife of 21 years, Carolyn Monsalvatge. He leaves four step-daughters, Patty, Karen, Susan and Linda.
He was the sibling of Frances Marotta and Ann Desposito, and the late Sebastian Daidone, Peter Daidone and Eva Amantia.
He also is survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was a leading advertising agent in New York and Miami with Arvida Corp. He owned and operated his own company called The Art Staff and also Daidone, Angelo and Associates.
He was a graduate of Pratt Institute of Brooklyn and graduated with an associate’s degree in advertising design.
His greatest success was the ads he did for home builders throughout the state of Florida and for William J. Levitt and Sons, L.I., New York, from 1969 to 1976.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cape Coral.
His passions were antiques, music, gardening, cooking, collectibles, stamps, coins, football, baseball, comic cards and going to movies.
He will be deeply missed by so many that have loved him.
Memorial church services are being held in Naples, Fla., at St. John the Evangelist Church, 625 111th Ave., at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 12.
