Donald Raymond Harper
Donald Raymond Harper, 93, of Cape Coral, died Monday, June 28, 2010. He was born Oct. 19, 1916, in Staten Island, N.Y. He graduated from MIT in 1940 and married his beloved wife, Jeanne Fuller. They just celebrated there 70th anniversary.
Working as a mechanical engineer for Austin Company, Goodyear Tire and then Harper and Stevenson in Ohio, the couple moved to Cape Coral 37 years ago. He worked for Frizzell Company in Fort Myers.
He was a member and secretary of the Harney Point Kiwanis, longtime member of Palmetto Pine Country Club and active member of the Faith Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Jeanne; wonderful father to Arthur L. (Judith) Harper, Robert E. (Sherilyn) Harper and Laurel Harper MacNab (James); and grandfather to seven grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kristen, Amy, John, Jerry and Rachel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister and grandson Jonathan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Kiwains, Harney Point, Cape Coral.
A memorial service will be celebrated Tuesday, July 6, at 2 p.m., at 4544 Coronado Parkway, Cape Coral, 542-2858
