Walter J. Bykowski
Walter J. Bykowski, 76, of Cape Coral passed away Saturday, May 8, 2010, in St. Petersburg. He was born in Milwaukee, Wis. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the U.S. Army. He owned and operated Ace Chrome Plating in Milwaukee for 32 years. He also worked for Lee County School Transportation and he enjoyed driving and being an attendant on the special needs school bus for 13 years.
He loved boating and fishing and was commodore of the Milwaukee Boat Club and a member of South Shore Yacht Club. He and his wife moved to Cape Coral from Mequon, Wis., 14 years ago.
Mr. Bykowski is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Ellen; four sons, Jeffrey (Carol), Dean, Scott (Allison) and Kevin (Michelle); six grandchildren, Brandon, Alexa, Peyton, Mason, Easton and Dylan; and a sister-in-law and a brother-in-law.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 12, from 6 8 p.m., at Metz Funeral Home, 1306 Lafayette St., Cape Coral. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, May 13, at 10 a.m., at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Cape Coral. Entombment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with military honors.
