Cape VIN Unit arrests dealer after purchasing oxycodone
Cape Police with the Vice, Intelligence and Narcotics Unit arrested a man after he reportedly sold Oxycodone tablets in the parking lot of a local restaurant Wednesday. Shane Patrick Auvil, 23, of 4119 SW 21st Place, Cape Coral, was charged with trafficking an opium derivative.
On May 5, at 4:45 p.m., detectives with the VIN Unit executed a controlled buy of Oxycodone tablets in the parking lot at the restaurant at Veteran’s Parkway and Santa Barbara Boulevard. According to a report fromg the CCPD, the officers purchased 200 Oxycodone tablets for $2,000. Upon completion of the transaction, the Cape Police Street Crimes Unit conducted a vehicle stop and took the alleged seller, identified as Auvil, into custody without incident, the report said.
Auvil was booked and transported to Lee County Jail. This investigation is continuing and additional charges may be pending, according to the report.
