Patrick T. O’Brien Sr.
Patrick T. O’Brien Sr., 67, of Cape Coral, formerly of Sugar Grove, Ohio, and Illinois, passed away April 10, 2010, at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral.
He was born on March 1, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Edward T. and Agnes R. (Mullen) O’Brien.
He graduated from St. Edwards High School, Cleveland, Ohio. After graduation he received his degree from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. He then proudly served in the U.S. Army as a first lieutenant in Vietnam in the He retired from North American Corporation, Glenview, Ill., after many rewarding years of service and making so many life-long friends who will miss him.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie; two sons, Michael S. O’Brien of Cape Coral and Patrick T. O’Brien Jr. of Gurnee, Ill.; daughter, Lori (Dale) Young of Sugar Grove, Ohio; grandchildren, Kendra, Kurt, Chelsea and Mackenzie; sister, Kay (Tom) O’Brien of Bay Village, Ohio; sister-in-law, Nancy O’Brien of Fairview Park, Ohio; nephews, Tim, Terry and Jerry Jr; nieces, Bridget and Colleen; and many cherished family members and life long friends.
Mr. O’Brien was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jerry.
His love of the water and becoming a charter boat captain on Lake Michigan was a dream come true. A military memorial in Illinois will be announced at a later date.
