Maria Drotleff Giesel
Maria Drotleff Giesel, 88, of Cape Coral, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went home to the Lord Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010. She was born in Sibiu, Romania, Oct. 21, 1921, to Peter Drotleff and Maria (Drommer) Drotleff, now deceased. She was married 59 years to William Giesel, now deceased. She came to the United States in 1952 on the General Hershey American Military Boat arriving at Ellis Island.
She joins her parents; husband; brothers, Oskar Drotleff, Peter Drotleff, William Drotleff and Hans Drotleff; her sister, Margrette Roth; and her son-in-law. Clifford Simmons.
Her memory will be cherished by her daughters, Brigitte Velich, Denise Simmons, Rosemary Malone and Heidi George; sons-in-law, Richard Velich and James Malone; her sister, Helene Kutscher; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her nieces and nephews; and very special friends.
Visitation and a funeral service were held Saturday, Feb. 6, at Coral Ridge Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1630 S.W. Pine Island Road, Cape Coral.
