Wilbert Arnold
Wilbert Arnold, 87, of Cape Coral, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, following an extended illness. He was born March 14, 1922, in Kimball, W.Va., and moved to Cape Coral from North Carolina in 2000. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 24 years, Clara Velazquez Arnold; his step-son, Angel David of New York City, N.Y.; his daughter, Wendy Wilson Walker and grandson Christopher Wilson of Brecksville, Ohio; step-nephews, Victor (Jackie) Soto of Cape Coral, Pete (Jen) Soto of Cape Coral, Michael (Bobbi) Guarnieri of Ojai, Calif.; nephew, Barry Washington of Winston-Salem, N.C.; nieces, Pat Shingles of Las Vegas, Nev., Shirley (Jesse) Seward of Barberton, Ohio, Shirley Mitchell of Winston-Salem, N.C., Letty Washington of New York City, N.Y.; Bobbi Doby of Raeford, N.C.; grand-nieces, Alexandria, Gabriella, Madison, Jade; a sister-in-law, Rosie Velazquez; a very dear friend, Toni Montaez; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral was held Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard., Fort Myers. Burial followed in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
