Beatrice Evelyn Van Inwegen
Beatrice Evelyn Van Inwegen, retired telephone operator and store manager at Bailey Lake Campsite, a lifelong resident of the area, died Nov. 7, 2009, at home in Cape Coral, at the age of 97.
A daughter of the late Samuel J. and Edith F. Hicks, Beatrice was born April 3, 1912, in Mountaindale, N.Y. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Stanley G. Van Inwegen; a son, Stanley W. Van Inwegen; and a sister, Marjorie V. Bailey.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Judith McKenzie Van Inwegen with whom she resided; grandson, Michael A. Van Inwegen and his wife Lynette Cole Van Inwegen of Arvilla, N.D.; two great-grandchildren, Coleman M. and Vincent A. Van Inwegen; a sister-in-law, Ardiss Van Inwegen; nieces, Franda Thalmann and her husband, Arthur, and their daughter, Kelly Lake, and sons, Daniel and Eugene; Ardiss Peas and her husband, Robert, and their children, Robert, Renee, Richele and Rayna; nephews, Benson Van Inwegen and his wife, Becky, and their daughters, Kimberly and Katherine, Richard Van Inwegen and wife, Barbara, and their sons, Jason, Kevin and Eric, Birdsell Van Inwegen and fiance, Donna Kelly, and his daughter, Heather Merrill, and her husband, David, nieces, Bette Bailey, Marylou Bates, Barbara Ciancimino and husband, Albert, and their children, Fr. David Ciancimino, Patti Richardson and her husband, Bob, and their children Ashley, Bobby and Kenny, Pam Pustorino and her husband, Rich, and their sons, Thomas, Mark and Gregory; her cousins, Earnest and Irene Hicks, Muriel Ketch, Phyllis Delgado, Mary Lou and George Dixon and Ruth Baxter.
A celebration of life will be held at the Baily Homestead in the summer of 2010.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myes FL 33908, or a charity of one’s choice.
