Joseph P. Salcunas
Joseph P. Salcunas was called home Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, to be with our Father, his predeceased parents, Clemence and Constantia, and brother, John. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., he worked for various Brooklyn breweries, the last being Schaefer Brewing Co. of Brooklyn, before retiring to Florida in 1982.
He was a World War II veteran, serving proudly in the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant from 1941-45 in Georgia, Florida, England, France and the Rhineland. He was in charge of the warehouse for the 878th Signal Co. Aviation Depot.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rose.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to St. Andrew Catholic Church.
