Thomas Robert Edwards Sr.
Thomas Robert Edwards Sr., 77, of Lehigh Acres, passed away Monday, Oct. 26, 2009.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Korea. He received the U.N. Service Medal, the National Defense Medal, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge and the Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Star.
He was a native of Rock Rift, N.Y., and a retired Rodbuster with the Ironworkers Local 60.
He was loved and respected by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Betty; children, Kelly (Frank) McIntosh, Debbie (Chris) Crawford, Sandie (Fred) Shriber, Tom (Marie) Edwards Jr. and Bob (Colleen) Edwards; grandchildren, Ellie and Frankie McIntosh, Michelle Button, Christina and Scotty Fisher, Tiffany Swan, Erica Lindenmayer, Cora Pratt and Kyle Edwards; six great-grandchildren; and siblings, Bud (Janice) Edwards, Bea (Dale) Baker and Elwyn (Kathy) Edwards.
He was predeceased by his parents, Leslie and Glendora Edwards; and granddaughter, Maryellen Michelle McIntosh.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Trinity Baptist Church in Lehigh Acres.
