William ‘Bill’ David Shuff Sr.
William “Bill” David Shuff Sr., 83, died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, at his Cape Coral home. He was born Nov. 8, 1925, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to William and Catherine Shuff.
He was a member of the IBEW Electrical Union, Locals 52 and 164, in New Jersey for 41 years. After retiring, he and his wife moved to Florida.
He continued his religious practice as an active parishioner of the Cape Coral Messiah Lutheran Church. He was also an active member and past commodore of the Sportsman Club and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 8463.
He was a devoted brother of the Freemason for more than 52 years. He started his journey at the Theodore Roosevelt Lodge 219 and among his many titles he was the Most Illustrious Past Grand High Priest of the Royal Arch Masons of New Jersey, Most Illustrious Past Grandmaster and 33rd Degree of the Scottish Right Free Masonry.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dolores Shuff; son, William D. Shuff; daughters, Dolores “Penny” McConagly, Melanie Billias and Janet Falcey; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, George Shuff; and sister, Arlene Faust.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2691 N.E. Pine Island Road.
The family has requested no flowers but rather a donation to the Cape Coral Sportsman Club, VFW Post 8463 or Masonic Home in Burlington, N.J.
