Antonio Rivera
Antonio Rivera, 79, of Cape Coral, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009, at Cape Coral Hospital. He was born July 5, 1930, in Puerto Rico, a child of Pedro and Tomasa (Santiago) Rivera.
A resident of Cape Coral for the past nine years, he formerly lived in North Fort Myers, Puerto Rico and Paterson, N.J. He owned and operated restaurants in Paterson, N.J., and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
He was the husband of the late Virginia (Arroyo) Rivera, who died in 1998.
He is survived by his son, Anthony (Evelyn) Rivera of North Fort Myers; grandchildren, Suzette, Anthony Jr. and Sasha Rivera; brothers, Gilbert (Rosa) Rivera and Hiram (Angie) Rivera, all of Puerto Rico; and sisters, Julia Pedraja, Armelis (Jose) Dessus and Maria (Osvaldo) Morrobel, all of Cape Coral.
He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Gina Rivera, Fana Rivera, Ana Rivera and Aurea Rivera.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Affordable and Trusted Cremation Center at Horizon Funeral Home, 1605 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, with the Rev. Thomas Palko officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today and after noon Wednesday. Burial will follow at Coral Ridge Memorial Park.
