John Astor Bodden
John Astor Bodden, 86, of Cape Coral, died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, at Cape Coral Hospital. He was born Nov. 9, 1922, in Honduras, a child of Talbort and Dorothy (McLaughlin) Bodden.
He always worked as a Merchant Marine and moved to Cape Coral from Miami.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Altamease C. (Harris) Bodden; children, Caldwell Astor (Justina) Bodden of Camden, N.J., Phyllis (Elerie) Hubert of Tavares, Fla., Nina (Jessie) Oliver of Raleigh, N.C., and David Bodden of Cape Coral; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Effie Linwood of Miami; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his 10 siblings.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today in the Affordable and Trusted Cremation Center at the Horizon Funeral Home, 1605 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, where the family will receive friends after noon.
