Sister Ann McFall, 84, of the Order of Preachers, passed away Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009. She was born Aug. 25, 1925, in Chicago, Ill.

She entered the Sinsinawa Dominican Novitiate in 1943 and made profession as Sister Geoffrey in 1945.

She was a grade school teacher at Incarnation in Minneapolis, Minn.; St. Mark in Peoria, Ill.; St. Jerome in Columbus, Wis.; St. Joseph the Worker in Dubuque, Iowa; and St. Cajetan and St. Richard in Chicago, Ill.

She served as principal at Sacred Heart in Omaha, Neb.; Immaculate Conception in Tulsa, Okla.; and Our Lady of Mount Carmel School in Tempe, Ariz.

Sister McFall served as an elementary education instructor at Dominican University in River Forest, Ill. She was the director of religious education at Blessed Sacrament Parish in Tolleson, Ariz. She was a volunteer tutor at St. John and Holy Spirit School in Pittsburgh, Pa.

She returned to the Sinsinawa Mound Motherhouse from 1994-2000 and served as services director. In 2007, she began working as a volunteer in Cape Coral.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 2628 Del Prado Blvd. S. Receiving will be held from 9:3011 a.m.
