Miriam F. Ozer
Miriam F. Ozer, 92, died peacefully Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, in Fort Myers in her sleep.
She held two nursing degrees and served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army Nursing Corp in London, England, during World War II. For most of her career, she served as a night nurse supervisor at D.C. General Hospital in Washington, D.C., until her retirement in 1972.
She moved to Fort Myers in 1976. Along with her sister, Mildred, she became a very active volunteer in the local community. She was also an active member at Temple Beth Shalom. She was a member of the local needlepoint group and created lovely artistic pieces.
She is survived by her brother, Irving Ozer of Sun City Center, Fla.; niece, Lorrie Mainzer of Bowie, Md.; and nephews, David Hill of Fredericksburg, Va., and Rick Ozer of Lexington, Mass.
